This week, we're talking about anxiety; why we need to redefine it, and how to do exactly that. While mental health is complex, our culture has made anxiety into something it’s not. For the majority of people who face anxiety, the truth is simpler than we think: anxiety is an alarm. It’s a signal—nothing more and nothing less. Anxiety is simply our body’s way of telling us something is wrong. If we stop and listen, we can calm the alarm and move forward into healing and hope.

Somehow, the unthinkable happened in your life: job loss, infidelity in your marriage, the loss of a parent far too early in life, the betrayal of a friend.

Beyond the shock, grief and the sense of profound loss hits in an unpredictable way. And as we move through grief, not only does life change but we are changed in the process. And while a fatalistic view of life isn’t helpful or even hopeful, we cannot ignore the fact that in this life, we will experience loss and pain. And that’s what we’re going to explore with marriage and family therapist, Nicole Zasowski. Today’s focus isn’t about how to look on the bright side or how to search for the silver lining in the cloud. It’s how to leverage the unwanted pain in your life in a way that will lead you to emotional freedom and transformation.

We're all infected with a spiritual disease. Its name is "shame." Whether we realize it or not, shame affects every aspect of our lives. In fact, shame causes us to hide. Yet God is not absent or separate from our hiding. He's with us in it. So why do we work so hard to believe He's not with us in our shame? Find out this week as we sit down with Dr. Curt Thompson, a renowned psychiatrist, whose insight on shame will help you identify your own pains and struggles and find freedom from the lifelong negative messages that bind you. It's time to embrace healing and wholeness as you discover and defeat shame's insidious agenda.

Living with an overshadowing feeling of guilt is exhausting. Guilt drives our decisions. Guilt is a source of distraction. And in relationships, guilt shows up as debt. How? Well, too often, we take far more responsibility than we should in a relationship. So, we may not have done something wrong, but we feel like we did, so we have to compensate. Today, we’re taking a thorough look at how to let go of guilt in your life with author, speaker, and coach, Valorie Burton, whose own relationship with guilt has given her both perspective and tools we need.
